How to read it
Up scores higher, left costs less. Each dot is one generation: across, the middle asking price of its example listings; up, its Guide Score for the best model year to buy. Filled dots are M cars, rings are M Performance models.
The line is where the value is. A car sits on it when nothing in the guide costs the same or less and scores the same or more. Follow it up from the left and every step costs more and scores more: at the top, the M2 G87 scores 97 for a typical $66,000. Every car off the line has one on it that is better value; hover over a dot or tap it to see which.
