Inspection checklist
i7 M70 G70, 2024 to 2026
Before you go
- Open recalls. Run the VIN through NHTSA or a BMW dealer and ask for proof every recall was done.
- History report. Check the title, accidents, owners and mileage record.
- Service records. Ask for them in advance, ideally from a BMW dealer or specialist.
- Certified or not. BMW can still certify 2024 to 2026 cars. If this one is certified, ask for the paperwork showing when its cover ends.
- Independent inspection. Book a pre-purchase inspection with a shop that knows this engine.
Known problems on this car
- Rear drive faults 2024 and 2025 cars
Check the history for Drive faulty or Drivetrain warnings, listen for whining or grinding from the rear, and ask a BMW dealer to check the VIN for open service campaigns and past drive repairs.

Recalls to confirm
- Integrated brake unit recall 2024 and 2025 cars

- Air-conditioning wiring recall 2024 and 2025 cars
Check the VIN for this recall and ask for the dealer record of the harness inspection, especially if the cabin filter has been changed at an independent shop.
- Drive motor software recall
Check the VIN for open recalls and ask whether the car ever showed a Drivetrain malfunction warning.
- Steering wheel sensor recall
Check the VIN for open recalls and confirm that the driver assistance systems work without warnings on the test drive.
